CRAIG CLEVELAND, CPA
Principal
Craig is in charge of the firm’s tax practice. Working out of the Anaheim office, Craig specializes in accounting and tax issues affecting contractors, real estate developers, small businesses, and real estate investors. He has been active with the Associated General Contractors of America Financial Issues Forum (formerly named the Tax & Fiscal Affairs Committee), a national organization, since 2003.

In addition to assisting clients with tax planning and managing the Anaheim compliance work, Craig has served as an officer and board member of the Associated Builders and Contractors of Southern California.

He also remains active with the Construction Financial Management Association, the Surety Claims Association and Surety Underwriters Association of Southern California, in addition to his professional affiliation with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Craig obtained his Bachelor’s in Business Administration in 1975 from California State University, Pomona and gained experience at a medium-sized Southern California CPA firm prior to joining JHS in 1989.
THOMAS HENLE, CPA
Principal
Tom is based out of the firm’s Anaheim office and also maintains an office in Danville to continue serving his long-time Northern California clients. In addition to income taxes, accounting and consulting, Tom has valuable experience in the areas of budgeting, financing, cash flow, general business management, business valuation, business succession planning, and estate planning. He has been active with the Associated General Contractors of America on the Tax & Fiscal Affairs Committee, a national organization, and serves as a director of the Orange County District of the Associated General Contractors of California.

Tom graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and then obtained a Master of Business Administration in Finance. He began working with a manufacturing company in the San Francisco Bay Area and then entered the US Army achieving the rank of lieutenant. Upon discharge from the military, Tom began his career as a CPA with Arthur Anderson and Company. He gained valuable business management experience as the controller and general manager of a local transportation company prior to joining JHS.

Tom is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is an active member in the Building Industry Association, Associated Builders and Contractors, Associated General Contractors of California, Construction Financial Management Association, Engineering Contractors’ Association, and Southern California Contractors Association.
LOUIE BRAVO, CPA
Assurance Manager
As an assurance manager in the Anaheim office, Louie oversees financial statement audits, reviews, and tax preparation for many of the firm’s construction-industry clients. He is a member of the JHS accounting and audit committee and has experience with audits and reviews of construction, nonprofit organizations, and 401k pension funds. He also assists clients with income tax planning matters.

In 2015, the ICCIFP accredited him as a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP), a designation that further complements his experience with the business of construction and proficiency in all areas of construction financial management.

Louie’s prior experience was with a CPA firm in Irvine where he developed his financial statement and taxation skills. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from University of California, San Diego. He has been licensed as a CPA since 2002.

Louie is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accounts, and the Construction Financial Management Association.
ELIZABETH SOLIS-GARZA, EA
Tax & Assurance Manager
Elizabeth is a tax and assurance manager in the Anaheim office and possesses a broad range of taxation experience. She currently manages tax compliance, planning, and research for individuals, corporations, trusts, estates, and limited liability companies. Elizabeth has enjoyed her experience working on a family of related clients, including multi-state construction businesses, family trusts, and tax planning. She has supported clients involved with Internal Revenue Service and Franchise Tax Board examinations.

Beginning her career with a CPA firm in Irvine, Elizabeth gained a wide range of experience in income and estate tax preparation and attestation engagements.

Elizabeth graduated from California State University, San Bernardino, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with Accounting emphasis. She is a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Outside of work, Elizabeth is active with her children's academic and athletic activities.
Whitney Kong, CPA
Tax Supervisor
Whitney is a certified public accountant who graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. She started her accounting career in a private company as an accountant assistance for almost three years and then moved to the public accounting industry. She enjoys the challenge of public accounting, as it involves consistently learning. As a tax supervisor, she is responsible for reviewing and supervising the tax preparation of S-corporation, partnership, and individual tax returns. She also has experience in working with audit, review, and compilation engagements, focusing on serving the construction industry. Whitney loves spending time at home with her husband and three beautiful cats and helping take care of her husband's saltwater aquarium fish tanks.
Everett Avila
Intern
Everett joined JHS in 2022 to begin her public accounting career and assists in tax preparation and A & A work for the firm’s clients. Currently, she is in the process of earning a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting at California State University, Fullerton. She's easy-going, diligent, and aspires to be a positive influence to those around her. Everett's hobbies include spending time with her family, friends and dogs, binge-watching movies and shows, and exploring the OC.
Argelia Lopez-Apodaca
Staff Accountant
Argelia joined the JHS team in 2022, assisting in tax and A & A work. She is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor's in Business Administration, Accounting. She is pursing her CPA license and is eager to grow in her profession. She is a dependable individual who is passionate, hard-working, and optimistic. She values a work-life balance, positive attitude, and good communication. Argelia enjoys listening to music, trying new food, and spending time with friends and family.
Nataly Urquieta
Administrative Assistant
Nataly graduated from California State University of Fullerton earning a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in General Management. She joined JHS in 2018 as an administrative assistant and is experienced in a wide range of office administration tasks. She is determined, reliable, and personable. She strives to contribute, support, and profoundly make an impact in her role. Nataly enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending sports events, and finding a good show to binge-watch.
